Dr Daniel MAKES

Dr MAKES is currently a Senior Consultant Radiologist and Chief of Superficial Organ Imaging, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Jakarta, and Chairman of Continuing Professional Development of the same department. He wrote two books, ˇ§Atlas of Breast Ultrasound & Mammographyˇ¨ and ˇ§Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma: Radiodiagnostic and Radiotheraphy Aspectˇ¨ (both in Indonesian language). Currently he is the Founding President of ABDA and the President of the Indonesian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (ISUM) . He has given 157 invited presentations in international, regional and national scientific meetings. Currently he is also the Editorial Member of Journal of Medical Ultrasound, the official journal of ASIAN Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology (AFSUMB).

Dr Puay Hoon TAN  

Dr TAN is a senior consultant histopathologist and the Head of the Department of Pathology, Singapore General Hospital in Singapore. She has an active interest in breast, urologic and renal pathology, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Pathology and Pathology. She also reviews for other international journals. She and her collaborators are recipients of several research grants. She is the author or more than 100 publications and has delivered succinct lectures in China, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand.

Dr Henry Hon-shing LAM

Dr LAM is the Chief of Service in Radiology of Kowloon West Cluster, Hospital Authority, Hong Kong. He is also Honorary Clinical Associate Professor of Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong. Dr. Lam is in charge of the mammographic screening service of the Well Women Clinic of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals which is the largest breast screening programme in Hong Kong. He is currently the Vice President of the Hong Kong College of Radiologists. Dr. Lam is a reviewer of the Journal of the Hong Kong College of Radiologists, Hong Kong Medical Journal and the Electronic Biomedical Imaging and Interventional Journal. He had been an examiner of the Joint Final Fellowship Examination of the Royal College of Radiologists & Hong Kong College of Radiologists. Dr. Lam has given invited presentations within the region, and has numerous publications.

Dr Gary Man-Kit TSE

Dr TSE is a senior medical officer and honorary clinical associate professor in the Department of Anatomical and Cellular Pathology, Prince of Wales Hospital and Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently editorial board member for Journal of Clinical Pathology, Pathology, Chinese Pathology Journal and Asian Archive of Pathology, and ad hoc referee for several other journals. He is also the president of the Hong Kong division of International Academy of Pathology. Dr. Tse has given invited presentations within the region, and has published actively in breast pathology. He is also interested in head and neck pathology and autopsy.

Professor Benjaporn CHAIWUN

Prof Chaiwun is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Her main interest in pathology is in breast pathology and cytology, and in due course of her career, she had spent some time in USA and Japan. She publishes extensively, and contributed to several chapters on topics including neuroendocrine and endocrine system, adrenal and thyroid immunomicroscopy and antigen retrieval in immunohistochemistry. She has published more than 50 articles in regional and international journals, many of which are related to breast diseases and are multidisciplinary. She is well known within the region, and has lectured extensively within the country, and also in the region including Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore.

Professor Humairah CHEUNG 

Prof. Cheung is Professor in Radiology & Deputy Dean (Student Affairs), Kulliyyah of Medicine, International Islamic University and Director, IIUM Breast Centre, & Professor in Radiology, Kulliyyah of Medicine, Jalan Hospital, Kuantan, Malaysia. She has spent her career as a radiologist in Malaysia and Hong Kong, where she has spent time in various hospitals and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently she is heavily involved in student affairs, English proficiency, extracurricular activities and ethics committee in the IIUM as well as breast cancer detection at the community level.

She has lectured extensively within the region, and regularly gave lectures to high degree examinees and in medical writing. She is also an examiner for various Colleges of Radiology and has more than 50 publications in international peer reviewed journals.

Dr Yi Hong CHOU

Dr Chou is currently the Chief, Section of Ultrasound, Department of Radiology, Veterans General Hospital, and Professor of Radiology, National Yang Ming University, School of Medicine, Taiwan. He holds key positions in many learned societies in the ROC, including the Society of Ultrasound in Medicine, Radiological Society, Breast Cancer Society of Taiwan, Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology and AFSUMB. He is the Editor in chief of Journal of Medical Ultrasound, Associate editor of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, and editors of Chinese Journal of Radiology, Diagnostic Imaging Asia Pacific and Journal of Radiological Technology Association ROC. He is also referee for many other international journals in ultrasound and hepatology. He has received more than 18 awards and honors since 1982, including award for outstanding academic research, Doctor of the Year and Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance of the Year and many awards for his research presentation in prestigious international congresses. He has published very extensively, with more than 270 publications in international peer reviewed journals to date.

Professor Shotaro MAEDA

Prof Maeda is the Professor of Pathology, Nippon Medical School and Head of Department of Pathology, Tama-Nagayama Hospital. His main interests are in surgical pathology and cytopathology. He is the director of the Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology and the Japanese College of Clinical Pathology and he is also the councilor of the Japanese Society of Pathology, the Japanese Society of Clinical Pathology, the Japanese Breast Cancer Society and a committee member of the annual Thai-Japanese Workshop in Diagnostic Cytopathology.

Professor Malai MUTTARAK 

Prof Muttarak is currently Professor of Radiology, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She is also the President of the South East Asia Association of Academic Radiologists, and has numerous editorial appointments including Singapore Medical Journal and Electronic Biomedical Imaging and Interventional Journal, and she reviews for the Journal of Hong Kong College of Radiologists. She lectures extensively within the region, and has given talks in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan. She is the author of two breast radiology books:

1.      Film-screen mammography: Text-Atlas. Bangkok, PB. Book Center, 1995

2.      Breast Imaging: A comprehensive Atlas. Thailand, Booknet Company, 2002

She also contributed to

1.      Corr P ed. Pattern recognition in diagnostic imaging. World Health Organization, 2001

2.      Peh WCG, Hiramatsu Y eds. The Asian-Oceanian Textbook of Radiology. Singapore: TTG Asia 2003.

Prof Muttarak also publishes extensively, with more than 40 papers in peer reviewed journals.
